I started Certified G Motivation as a way to let others like me know that life does not always have to be a struggle. I began the company to inspire people to never settle for less in life and demonstrate that life can be beautiful and amazing.

I have struggled with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember. Waking up every single day just trying to get from one day to another and struggling with inferiority. I would mask my emotions and insecurities by indulging in massive amounts of food. Ultimately, this led to an unhealthy lifestyle, which culminated in a weight of 360 pounds.

One evening, when I was 24 years old, I started experiencing chest pains and numbness in my left arm. I arrived at an Emergency Room, where a series of tests were run to see if I was experiencing a heart attack. After getting the results, it was determined that my body was under an immense amount of stress as well as overworked because of my weight. The doctor informed me that if I didn’t make some life altering changes I would be dead by 30 years old.

Being so young, I guess I had taken life for granted. When I was told that I was now on a timeline, I started to re-evaluate my life and determined that an early death would prevent me from living the life that I always wanted. At this point in my life, I started to focus on all of the opportunities I had in front of me, rather than focus on all my shortcomings as an individual.

Through exercise and meal preparation, I was able to lose 100 pounds in 11 months. I now have lost over 150 pounds and have kept it off for over 7 years. I started living a healthier, meaningful life. I found value for myself, found the love of my life, (my amazing wife Maribel), and found a purpose for all my trials and tribulations.
